Day 12 “On the Road” Lunch at JT Basques in Gardnerville, NV

March 21st, 2014

Once again, we were reminded that desert, which we correctly associate now as a very arid place, was once filled with water.

We got back in the car and hi-fived each other, knowing, finally we were departing the last “scout” site of our desert trip.

We were on our way home.  But not without a meal stop in Gardnerville to taste what the area had once been famous for when years ago, Spaniards and French of Basques descent were brought over to shepherd sheep.  We delighted in our oxtail stew and lamb chop plate at a well-known and lively watering hole called JT Basques Bar and Dining Room.
